Barack Obama

The choice of Obama for his efforts on nuclear disarmament and peace in the Middle East has more shadows than lights Santo subito , by Inigo Saenz de Ugarte | Hopefully someday he deserves , for Jesus Maze | Reaction Media | Your mandate in pictures
There has not been even a year in office, but the gestures of U.S. President Barack Obama, have led him to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize , as announced Friday by the Norwegian Nobel Institute .
The President will receive the award on December 10 in Oslo.
The award recognizes their efforts to achieve nuclear disarmament pact , to boost the peace process in the Middle East and promote the fight against climate change. Obama , who in recent weeks has seen his popularity plummeted , this takes the cake though doubts arise .
Only in regard to nuclear disarmament program has been significant progress . Last month, Washington decided to cancel the project Bush's missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic , prompting Russia to agree with the U.S. reduced its nuclear arsenal , which later joined other countries.
But in regards to the rest , Obama is, along with Arafat and Shimon Peres , another example of the efforts , but the results also serve to be a Nobel Peace .
"I do not deserve it "
In a brief appearance , Obama has admitted he has no impression "that deserves to be in the company of so many transformative figures who have been honored with this award ," but said accept it with honor
